📊 Interim Thoughts on the Demo Portfolio

Share

While the market remains relatively quiet, I’ve decided to revisit my approach to the @KAS_USDT_BOT (KAS & BTC Scalping bot) demo portfolio.

As a reminder, I launched the demo portfolio back in October 2024. In March 2025, I added Bitcoin trading functionality to the bot, and on October 20, 2025, I decided to formalize the rules and start publishing demo results for the BTC strategy as well.

The goal of this portfolio was never to showcase unrealistic returns like some bloggers love to do. Instead, I wanted to demonstrate something more practical and achievable for the average person.

That’s why the portfolio started with:
🔹1,000 USDT allocated to Kaspa
🔹Around 700 USDC allocated to the BTC section about 9 months ago

I also planned to contribute weekly:

🔹 25 USDC to the BTC portfolio
🔹 10–15 USDT to the Kaspa portfolio

However, this was conditional on Bitcoin staying above $100,000. As we now know, BTC remained above that level for only a little over a month after my announcement. As a result, the portfolio has seen almost no additional contributions since mid November 2025.

Bitcoin Portfolio
The impact on the BTC side was relatively limited.

Despite Bitcoin falling from $126,000 to the current $60,000+ range, I initially configured the bot very conservatively (sacrificing some short-term profitability) so it could comfortably withstand a drawdown to the $35,000-40,000 area.

The only disappointing part is that the contribution plan never materialized. Over roughly 36 missed weeks, the BTC portfolio would have received an additional 900 USDC and would now be about 2.5× larger than its original size.

Kaspa Portfolio
The situation with Kaspa was less favorable.

Back in 2024, just after a start, I tried to squeeze more performance out of the strategy than was realistically justified and ended up using overly aggressive order settings. As a result, a significant portion of the portfolio became locked into positions acquired at relatively high prices.

In the end, neither the BTC nor the Kaspa side of the portfolio received meaningful additions. At the same time, Bitcoin gradually appreciated, while the Kaspa bot often operated with minimum-sized orders or missed periods of volatility altogether - exactly what happened over the last month and a half.

💡 Because of this, I think it’s time to abandon the “Bitcoin above $100,000” requirement as a condition for making contributions.

Instead, I’ll simply add funds from time to time in amounts that are realistic for most followers and roughly in line with the original plan. Objectively, it usually makes more sense to accumulate positions when assets are cheaper rather than more expensive.

Going forward, this is the approach I’ll follow.

For full transparency, my monthly reports will include:
- Portfolio settings
- Contribution amounts
- Contribution dates
so everyone can clearly see how the portfolio evolves over time.

🚀 The next bot report will be published in early July.
