My Personal Rules for Futures Trading

Hey friends! As I mentioned earlier, I’ve decided to experiment a bit with futures trading and wanted to share my experience.

First, here’s a useful tip for beginners. If you’ve registered on MEXC, completed KYC, and deposited some funds, the exchange will eventually start encouraging you to try futures trading. One way they do this is by crediting your futures account with 15-50 USDT and inviting you to trade with it for a week.

The rules are simple: whatever profit you make (minus the bonus amount) is yours. If you lose the bonus, you lose nothing. Those funds, provided by MEXC, can’t be withdrawn or transferred to your spot account, the exchange will simply take them back if you try to do so. If you lose it all but keep using the platform, after 2-4 months they’ll likely give you another 15-50 USDT to try again. So, if you don’t want to risk your own money, this is a great way to get started.

As for me, I just wanted to diversify my trading a bit - watching @KAS_USDT_BOT all the time can get a little boring. Before I started, I set a few basic rules for myself:

👉 No high leverage. x20, x50, x200 - these are fast tracks to liquidation
👉 I’m only trading with an amount I’m comfortable losing. This is just for fun.
👉 No trades just for the sake of trading. I don’t need to jump into the market impulsively. I’m willing to wait weeks or even months for the right setup. The entry has to be obvious.
👉 No scalping unless the situation is crystal clear. For scalping, @KAS_USDT_BOT does a better job anyway.
👉 Never go all-in. I always keep some USDT in reserve so I can fix mistakes or improve my entry if needed.
👉 Most of my trades will be medium-term - anywhere from a few days to a few months. For example, my first BTC trade (see screenshot above) lasted almost 30 days, but it was worth it.
👉 I don’t expect to become a “trading guru.” I fully accept that my current results might just be a lucky streak. I’m mentally prepared to lose my initial deposit and realize this isn’t for me. If it works out - great!
👉 No cross margin. Only isolated margin.
👉 I’m pretty sure I’ll always be trading from the long side, since I only trade coins I truly believe in. As you might have guessed, that means Kaspa and Bitcoin

That’s it for my rules. You can see my current results in the screenshots above. Right now, I’m holding a small long position in KAS/USDT, opened at 0.0757 with 2x leverage.

Also, starting from July 1st, I’ve added the exchange token MX to my portfolio. I’ll share more details about this in my next post.
