Yonatan Refuses Binance Award - And Exposes Their Listing Demands

KASPA and Binance

Remember that recent poll where I, among others, asked you to participate? Well, Yonatan won in his category, but...

He refused to attend the award ceremony, explaining his decision in a Twitter post:

For those who don’t want to read the screenshots, here’s the gist:
Thanks to everyone, but most of the votes for him came from the Kaspa community, so let them win, or just don’t count Yonatan.
The crypto industry has turned into a convenient casino, and you, Binance, are quick to list all sorts of junk while ignoring a project with a fair launch, Nakamoto consensus, 100ms upgrade, ATH, top-20 status, and unique mining on par with Bitcoin. Given Binance’s role in the crypto market, you’ve basically turned it into a casino, completely forgetting the fundamentals. Fix this.

Also, just recently, Wolfie basically revealed what Binance wants for listing Kaspa:

$1–3 million plus another 3% of MAX Supply. At the current rate, that’s about $45 million in total.🤯

My opinion on all this:
it’s obvious something had to be done, since the current situation was clearly at a dead end. But I’m not sure escalation is the solution. As a result, it’s unlikely we’ll see a Binance listing anytime soon. It’s probably time to let go of the Binance idea and rely on the strength of the community and the exchanges we already have - and there are quite a few. If this works, Binance will eventually give in too. But it will take time and a lot of effort.

For now, the unexpected reaction for me was a nice bounce last night.
