🛢 Market Update: Fighting the Flat - Why I Opened an Oil Long
You know that feeling when the market has been dead for days? Just sitting there and watching without taking any action becomes exhausting - you start craving some real movement. That’s exactly where I am right now. 😫
How am I dealing with it?
I’m following a simple piece of advice: if you can’t fight temptation, yield to it. So, I decided to "trick" my brain. I opened a long position on Oil with a modest amount relative to my portfolio. At the end of the day, success isn't defined by the profit percentage of a single trade, but by the overall P&L. 📈
Why Oil?
The ongoing tension between Trump and Iran is hard to ignore. For a while, it seemed like a deal was done, the Strait of Hormuz was clear, and Iran had secured great terms they’d be wise to keep. 🚢
But that’s not the case. We’re seeing constant strikes and skirmishes from both sides, and full-scale shipping hasn't returned to normal. It feels like there’s a dual power structure in Iran: one group is negotiating with the US, while another is actively sabotaging those deals because they conflict with their own interests - interests that don't necessarily align with the country's well-being.
